Honda CR-Z hybrid systems

Honda's IMA system is the simplest design of all existing hybrid systems, most compact. Instead of having a separate alternator and starter motor as the traditional internal combustion engine, the IMA system combines two functions in one with an electric motor that starts the engine, speeding cars, recharges the battery and providing regenerative braking.
